The modular design of the truck scale is its most innovative aspect (as evidenced by its design patents) and compared with the non-modular design of traditional truck scales, it offers the advantages of allowing pre-calibration, reduced installation time, and easy (and safer) maintenance and possible relocation of the scales to another site if needed.

Although the modular design is more expensive than other products in the market, the design has demonstrated its marketability because of the savings in installation and operational cost savings. It has achieved a large market share in Hong Kong and a significant world-wide sales volume. The design makes good use of appropriate materials such as compressed wood and concrete for a lower overall weight and easy transport, and reduces environmental impact since the instrument could be relocated when needed.
